We also have a partner in Arizona who is a card carrying MMJ patient, Vitolo DelVecchio, who sells CRZs to fellow MMJ patients in Arizona only. He is in Tuscon and carries a CRZ inventory for medical patients at discounted prices. He also is always willing to help patients with all their vapor questions. Please visit Vitos site for a special treat.

We also have a brick and mortar retailer in Portland Oregon. Please visit Blakes store for Zaps and fine Denim clothing when in Portland.

During the summer of 2011 which happens to be our tenth year anniversary doing Aromazap, we met a very special person. A businessman who has invented and developed and manufactured and sold many products over the last three decades. He also has a special interest and skills in wood turning. We hit it off pretty good, both being old gruff guys with plenty of strong opinions about everything. Both happy with who we are and where we are going.

His shop designed and builds our Solid Stainless Steel, closed bottom heatport, Aromazap SSS, the ONLY heatport/heat exchanger installed now in every Aromazap sold. They also fabricate our Stainless Steel vapor stem tips. I still install the screen and retaining clip in the stem tips. He is also a Master at lathe work and is teaching me many new turning techniques.

One of his first questions to me way back when was "why are you using wood to insulate the heater?". "Because it works. Of course I must only get woods within a certain density, even though you have so many other choices here for me. I must also make the piece a certain size to allow enough wood mass to insulate the heater so everything flows correctly". "And, after a few years or sometimes less, the innards will rattle and twist and turn because the wood will char and deteriorate from all the continuous heat." "Whaaaaat?" he says. "Well, I can sell another one then" I say. Strange to him because he offers a lifetime guarantee on ALL of his products.

So the process of finding a better insulation started. What to use for an insulator and how to design it? We started with a small concrete cup around the heatport. His shop made us a mold, machined to exact specs and easy to use. Zaplady did the pouring because there is a few minutes required for the pour, then wait a half hour or so, then repeat. We found all concrete is not the same. Concrete is made for structural integrity, not to insulate. Oh yes, a lighter, more airy concrete mix will insulate better than a standard mix but this stuff was not designed to insulate a very small hot mass of stainless steel.

ROCKZAP(CRZ) started.

A rock around the heater. But there was a better choice to insulate.

"Lets look at the best modern technology for heat insulation". Because of his past relationships with commercial suppliers, we gained access to new insulating material sources. We are now using a Ceramic Thermal Blanket, wrapped around the SS heatport for insulation. The insulated blanket we use is 1/8" thick and is rated to 1500 degrees(F). The heat we are dealing with inside a log vape is closer to 500 degrees so the blanket is not even close to the rated heat allowance. We also install a ceramic insulating ring, made from recycled floor tiles, above and below the ceramic blanket wrapped heatport to further protect the wood and keep heat in the heatport. The insulating blanket is installed in a completely sealed closed chamber. The vapor airflow is totally sealed in stainless steel.

We are also doing a totally different install on these units. Everything goes in from the bottom. All boring is done on the lathe for perfect centering and reduced build time. Learning new lathe techniques is allowing us to make different shaped wood pieces. We can now use just about any wood rather than a few selected species. We can make Zaps smaller or bigger because the wood will not affect vapor production as in the traditional wood insulated design we have seen for years in 'log' vaporizers.

We think our new ceramic insulated Aromazap, the RockZap(CRZ), represents the future in log vape design because it allows us to do so many different designs and different wood species. The new RZ should also last forever with no rattles or charring since the wood is insulated from the heat so well. This issue can only be proven with the passing of time which we do not have with a new product. We surely do have a rational and logical expectation they will last a long time compared to the tradional wood insulated log vape design.

Aromazap Limited Lifetime Warranty

What is lifetime?
We will repair or replace free of charge any Aromazap(Ceramic Insulated RockZap or CRZ) that fails to function properly for any reason for the life of the Zap.  The customer pays the freight to Zapville. The life of the Zap means as long as you, the original owner, owns the Zap. We will also repair 2nd and 3rd owned units but will charge an additional fee if not the original owner.
What is Limited?
Limited is the wood, the transformer, vapor stems and misuse or abuse.
The transformer is warranted by Jameco for a year. Customers should go through Jameco if the transformer fails to perform within the year period.   We do not warrant the transformer. The transformer disclaimer can be waived at our discretion.
We will replace or repair at our discretion the wood for cracks that affect the function in any way at no charge for a period of one year from the date of purchase. After a year we will replace the wood for a nominal charge for cracking or other deformities. Freight to us is on the customer.
We will replace vapor stems if the screen dislodges for a period of three months from date of purchase. If a continuous problem occurs, we reserve the right to charge for vapor stems replaced.
Misuse and/or abuse determination is at our discretion based on our observation of the unit.

We are always here via Email at zapman@aromazap.com to answer any questions of any kind and assist you in your purchase.
