AROMAZAP is beautiful functional art. The art is in the turned wood, each piece being unique displaying varying appearances of grain, colors, aging characteristics and knots. During our first seven years of business, our primary wood used in the standard AROMAZAP was recycled Western Hemlock. We never cut a live tree to produce a standard AROMAZAP because there is so much dead wood available for our use.

Our new Myrtlezap uses wood available through several sources in Oregon. It still is recycled in that it has been cut and milled long ago. Some of the Myrtle we use is recycled driftwood from the beaches of Oregon. The wood we use is primarily small chunks of waste material that has long been gathering dust in the far corners of our suppliers wood shops. The unique size of our new round Zaps allows us to use pieces of wood that normally are very difficult for most wood suppliers to market. In the spring of 2010 we found another source of Myrtle wood that has been stored inside for more than 40 years.

Enclosed in the wood is a small electric heater that will heat the  hand made Aromatherapy diffusing flower included and will also heat air passing through the unit (using the vapor stem) for use as an herbal vaporizer. This is the 'functional' part of Aromazap.

Because 'art' is emphasized with Aromazap, you can feel good about displaying your 'ZAP' anywhere in your home at anytime. The 'art factor' in Aromazap has taken a new step in a very positive direction in 2009 with all Aromazaps being round. The cross grain patterns achieved on the lathe open the wood to display color and art like never before. This is especially true with the new hardwood MyrtleZaps.
